Villa Son Gual

This project involved home-staging a property that has been built for resale. The key is to present it in a way that it enhances the property and the materials, defining living spaces and providing a blank canvas on which prospective buyers are able to paint imagined lifestyles. The property is situated on higher ground inland, with magnificent views of the Mallorcan countryside and the sea in the distance. Justine herself was pleased to be working on a project close to her own home, which also gave her a natural understanding of the brief: to convey the calm feel of a property surrounded by nature, silent and tranquil, but in close proximity to all amenities.

The idea was to furnish the home making the most of the natural light flooding the home through its many windows, diffused through the use of white voile window dressings. The chosen palette was a range of natural neutrals – stone, ivory, white, pale grey- with splashes of colour in specific spots. Teal, sand and old gold for soft furnishings and abstract art in the living space surround a striking tropical wood and glass coffee table. In the dining room, an Asian side board in raspberry is matched with a piece of art reflecting its warm tones. Upstairs, the four bedrooms all have ensuite bathrooms. Light woods, neutral colours with accents of turquoise in one, bright pink in another. The ceilings are high, so special care has been taken to keeping the proportions, by using tall lamps and high headboards.

The villa boasts beautifully landscaped gardens featuring a swimming pool and terrace, planted areas, lawn and a covered dining space. All outdoor furniture is weather-proof, involving little maintenance. The result is a beautifully appointed holiday home ready to show off its best features and to seduce buyers with its spaciousness, light and tasteful presentation.
